VodafoneThree Launches 5G Home Broadband Service With Speeds Up to 150Mbps Starting at £19/Month
VodafoneThree introduced a new wireless broadband option that uses 5G routers installed by customers. The service starts at £19 a month and targets users frustrated with slow home connections.
forbes.comVodafoneThree launched Vodafone 5G Broadband, a service that delivers wireless internet through a 5G router without requiring cable installation. The service works straight out of the box and offers speeds up to 150Mbps. Customers can choose between an indoor 5G hub or an outdoor hub depending on signal strength.
Both hubs are installed by the user and rely on Vodafone’s existing 5G network. Pricing for the service starts at £19 ($25) a month on a two-year contract for up to 50Mbps. A rolling 30-day contract for the same speed costs £30 ($40) a month.
Upgrading to the 150Mbps tier raises the price to £22 ($29) a month on the 24-month plan or £32 ($43) on the flexible monthly option. K. conducted on behalf of VodafoneThree found that two thirds of respondents identified slow or unreliable broadband as their biggest pet peeve.
One in five said they are considering moving house to obtain better connectivity. The same survey showed that 24% of respondents rely on daily cellphone hotspotting to work around slow home broadband. Nineteen percent said they have ruled out a romantic partner because their Wi-Fi was inadequate.
