Wales to face Argentina in San Juan next weekend

Number eight Aaron Wainwright will return to San Juan next weekend if selected for Wales against Argentina. He earned his first cap there as a replacement during a 23-10 victory in June 2018. Wales will travel more than 7,000 miles for the fixture. The team has prepared for the long journey with support from its backroom staff.

Match-day memories Wainwright recalled a loud and hostile crowd at the stadium eight years ago. He said the fencing kept fans from reaching the pitch and expects similar conditions for players who have not visited before. The 28-year-old has now played 68 internationals. He is one of six players from the 2018 squad still in the current group.

Recent results Wales won at Cardiff City Stadium for the first time as an international side. The result marked the team's third straight victory and its first back-to-back Test wins since the 2023 World Cup. Wainwright said the recent results are helping build belief after a stretch that produced only two wins in 27 internationals between October 2023 and March 2026.
