Warner Says Trump Speech Shows Lack of Seriousness on Elections

Sen. Mark Warner on Sunday linked President Trump's primetime speech to the firing of Democratic members from the Elections Assistance Commission earlier this month. The Hill reported that Warner pointed to those recent dismissals to argue the president is not serious about securing elections. The commission works with local election officials, Warner noted in his remarks.

Warner said the agency plays a role in supporting those officials even though few people are familiar with it.
