Weatherspoon and Cooper Complete 2026 WNBA All-Star Rosters

Teresa Weatherspoon and Cynthia Cooper completed the 2026 WNBA All-Star rosters Wednesday afternoon after being named general managers for the event. ESPN reported that a coin flip gave Cooper's team the top selection, which went to Paige Bueckers, the player who received the most fan votes. Caitlin Clark, who earned the second-most votes, was assigned to Weatherspoon's team.

Weatherspoon selected A'ja Wilson as her first starter after the coin flip and added Olivia Miles, Aliyah Boston and Jessica Shepard to complete the starting lineup. Her bench includes Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Jonquel Jones, Courtney Williams, Kiki Iriafen and Nneka Ogwumike.

Cooper chose Breanna Stewart first and filled her starting five with Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard and Gabby Williams.

Angel Reese was the first reserve selected for Cooper's team, joined by Marina Mabrey, Dominique Malonga, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young and Sonia Citron. Weatherspoon said she sought playmakers, scorers, rebounders and defenders to build a balanced roster. Cooper said her priority was scorers and that she wants her team to play fast because the game will not feature half-court sets or called plays.

Cooper also said Bueckers can shoot the three, scores on all three levels and leads her team by getting everyone involved. The game will be played July 25 at the United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls. The WNBA Shooting Stars event and three-point contest are scheduled for July 24 at Wintrust Arena, home of the Chicago Sky.

The contest features one rookie, Olivia Miles, and three first-time All-Stars in Jessica Shepard, Dominique Malonga and Marina Mabrey. Becky Hammon will coach Cooper's team and Cheryl Reeve will coach Weatherspoon's team. The teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool that will benefit two Chicago-based organizations focused on keeping girls in sports.
