West Indies Defeat Scotland by Seven Runs in T20 World Cup Match

West Indies posted 153 for six in their 20 overs at Headingley before dismissing Scotland for 146 to win by seven runs in a T20 World Cup Group 2 match. Scotland lost four wickets for seven runs during the chase and needed 22 runs from the final two overs. Darcey Carter scored 59 from 62 balls and Ailsa Lister made 33 from 25 before both were dismissed in the 19th over.

Alleyne took three wickets in the penultimate over, removing Carter, Lister and Kirstie Gordon to leave Scotland needing 13 runs from the last four balls. Qiana Joseph then dismissed the remaining batters to complete a seven-run victory. Stafanie Taylor remained not out on 47 from 19 balls, hitting three sixes in her final five deliveries after West Indies had reached 85 for five in the 15th over.

Scotland took early wickets and restricted West Indies scoring before Taylor's late hitting lifted the total. Katherine Fraser claimed two wickets for 34 runs. Scotland next face England on Saturday while West Indies play Sri Lanka on Sunday in Bristol.
