The United Nations World Food Programme has reached more than 700,000 conflict-affected people in Lebanon with emergency food and cash assistance since 2 March. On average, the agency has supported close to 150,000 people per day, distributing nearly five million hot meals and providing cash transfers to close to half a million Lebanese and more than 100,000 Syrian refugees.

More than one million people remain displaced as the conflict enters its third month.

The WFP has supported more than 215,000 displaced people across over 500 shelters nationwide and an additional 85,500 people in host communities and hard-to-reach areas. WFP has deployed 24 humanitarian convoys to southern Lebanon, including border villages, Tyre and Hermel.

More than 50 percent of requested convoys have been delayed or cancelled due to movement and access risks amid daily bombardments and displacement orders.

A shipment of 250 metric tons of wheat flour entered Lebanon through the corridor with Jordan, supporting approximately 10,000 vulnerable households. The WFP-led Logistics Cluster has assisted 64 partners, including UNFPA, UNRWA, IOM, UNICEF, UNHCR, and international and national NGOs, with 18 partners transporting nearly 2,500 cubic meters of cargo.

Vegetable prices have risen more than 20 percent and bread prices around 15 percent since the escalation began. More than 80 percent of markets are no longer functioning in southern Lebanon and Nabatieh. 1 million per month, to sustain operations.

Sustained humanitarian access, stable supply flows and predictable funding remain critical to continued assistance, the agency stated.
