White House and FBI Director Investigate Leak of Security Issues With Qatari Airplane

President Donald Trump’s chief of staff Susie Wiles and FBI Director Kash Patel directed a White House investigation last week into the source of leaks about security deficiencies in a Qatari-gifted airplane intended for use as Air Force One. Some officials were asked to turn over their phones to investigators while on White House grounds, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke to CNN.

The inquiry sought to identify which government employees had disclosed details on the aircraft’s security shortcomings.

CNN Senior Law Enforcement Analyst Andrew McCabe discussed the investigation.
