White House Press Secretary Says Laziness and Campus Indoctrination Are Driving Gen Z Left

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on July 5, 2026, that a combination of laziness and liberal indoctrination on college campuses is causing her generation to drift toward the far left. Leavitt, age 28, posted the comments on X. “A combination of laziness, yes, and the liberal indoctrination that has been taking place in our education system for far too long,” Leavitt wrote.

Leavitt clarified that she was not painting all young people as lazy. She stated that many Gen Z Americans are hardworking, entrepreneurial, and deeply patriotic, and that it is vital to protect the American Dream for them. She suggested school choice could form part of the remedy for the rise of the radical left.

During an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters, Leavitt warned that a full-blown communist revolution was unfolding in Congress and called communism the biggest threat to America in 250 years. President Trump stated that communism is the enemy of free people everywhere, the enemy of the Constitution, and the enemy of July 4, 1776.

Trump issued similar warnings during addresses at Mount Rushmore and the National Mall for Independence Day.
