White Sox Activate Teel, Defeat Guardians 6-5 and Tie for AL Central Lead
The Chicago White Sox activated catcher Kyle Teel from the 60-day injured list on June 22 and optioned Edgar Quero to Triple-A Charlotte. Teel started his season debut and the team beat the Cleveland Guardians 6-5 to move into a first-place tie.

The Chicago White Sox defeated the Cleveland Guardians 6-5 on Monday after activating catcher Kyle Teel from the 60-day injured list and optioning catcher Edgar Quero to Triple-A Charlotte. Teel started behind the plate for his season debut and went 0-for-4.
Teel, 24, strained his right hamstring while playing for Italy in the World Baseball Classic and later injured his right knee during a rehab assignment with Charlotte.
A first-round pick in the 2023 amateur draft, he was acquired by the White Sox in the December 2024 trade that sent pitcher Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox. 273 with eight home runs and 35 RBIs in 78 games in 2025. During a four-game rehab stint with Charlotte in June, Teel went 8-for-16 with one home run and four RBIs.
The victory improved the White Sox to a first-place tie with the Guardians in the AL Central and opened a homestand after the team went 1-5 on a six-game road trip. He was acquired by the White Sox in a July 2023 trade with the Los Angeles Angels.
