Chicago White Sox catcher Kyle Teel injured his left ankle Monday night while trying to apply a tag in the second inning against the Texas Rangers. He was helped off the field without putting weight on the ankle. The White Sox won the game 10-3 in Arlington, Texas.
Manager Will Venable said Teel is likely headed to the injured list. The catcher will be evaluated Tuesday. "We've got to go get it get scanned and get more information," Venable said. Teel has played in just 19 games this season after earlier hamstring and knee injuries.
