A team general manager said the wide receiver who had surgery in October to repair a torn ACL and a second procedure this offseason to remove scar tissue should be available for the September 13 season opener. “I still think he’ll be fine Week 1,” the general manager told Yahoo Sports on Monday.

“He’s trending in the right direction. Again, these things take time, so it’s not instant. ” The player is not yet practicing. The new offensive coordinator said he has been impressed with the player’s mental approach to learning the system.

Offseason additions The general manager noted the team signed several wide receivers this offseason, including Darnell Mooney, Odell Beckham Jr., Calvin Austin III, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios. Officials remain optimistic the player will be the primary receiver for the opener.
