Winter Storm Warning Issued for Parts of Montana and Wyoming
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for southern Montana and a winter weather advisory for areas in both Montana and Wyoming. Snow accumulations of 5 to 13 inches are forecast through Thursday along with gusty winds.

Forecasters expect heavy snow primarily on north-facing slopes above 7,000 feet, with total accumulations projected between 8 and 13 inches and winds gusting up to 30 mph.
The National Weather Service warned that recreation in the high country could be impacted by the accumulating snow. Travelers are urged to carry emergency supplies including extra food, water and a flashlight in case conditions deteriorate.
M. m. MDT Thursday for the Pryor and Northern Bighorn Mountains in Montana and the Northeast Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming, including areas near Burgess Junction and Story. Snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are expected with wind gusts also reaching up to 30 mph. S.
Route 14 are likely to become slippery and hazardous as snow accumulates and winds increase. Officials recommend checking road conditions before traveling and staying alert to updated forecasts. In lower elevations, thunderstorms and rain are expected across the region as a cold front passes through.
The National Weather Service in Billings stated that showers and weak thunderstorms will spread south and east over the area this afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, National Weather Service offices in the Great Lakes have issued frost advisories and freeze warnings as cold weather sweeps across the region.
Frost advisories cover northeast Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, and the northern half of Michigan as well as the Upper Peninsula. Freeze warnings have also been issued in Michigan.
