AJ Dybantsa scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help the Washington Wizards defeat the Sacramento Kings 104-85 in NBA summer league on Sunday night in Las Vegas. ESPN reported the Wizards improved to 2-0. Dybantsa played 24 minutes and shot 6-for-15 from the field while missing five of six three-point attempts.
He added three steals and two blocks against the Kings. Over two summer league games Dybantsa averaged 25 points, seven rebounds, two assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks. He scored 27 points in his debut Thursday against the Utah Jazz.
Dybantsa shot 13-for-33 overall and 1-for-11 from three-point range across the two games. He committed three turnovers against Sacramento.
Dybantsa said he is trying to get used to game speed, plays, players, teammates and physicality. He also said he believes he could be a first-team All-Defensive team player. Dybantsa played college basketball at BYU.
He scored 35 points and had 10 rebounds in BYU's 79-71 NCAA tournament loss to Texas on March 19.
