Secondary-market prices for the 2026 World Cup final between Argentina and Spain rose sharply after the matchup was confirmed. The get-in price reached $9,500 on Saturday morning, up 46% from $6,943 on Wednesday, according to TickPick data. The average ticket price climbed to $15,331 on SeatPick, a nearly $4,000 increase over the same period.
The jump cements the final as the most expensive sporting event in U.S. history, surpassing previous benchmarks set by the Super Bowl and NBA Finals. The cheapest seat listed on FIFA’s official site stands at $21,995. A separate third-place match between England and France on Saturday carries a $598 get-in price on the secondary market.
The 2026 World Cup has already set records for ticket costs. Nearly two months before the event, the average cheapest group-stage ticket in Los Angeles reached $1,040 on FIFA’s resale platform. Ticket prices for some earlier knockout games declined sharply after favorites were eliminated.
The Belgium-Spain quarterfinal saw a 60% drop once the United States and Portugal exited the tournament. FIFA has drawn criticism over pricing, including the sale of grass patches from the final field at $450 or more. New Jersey officials have sought a share of proceeds from those sales.
