Yankees manager Aaron Boone struggled to open a bag of sunflower seeds during Tuesday night's game. Cameras captured the manager biting into the package before finally gaining access to the roasted and salted seeds. Boone addressed the incident the following day on the "Talkin' Yanks" podcast.

"When I checked some things, I did see the seeds thing, and looking like an idiot," he said. Ryan McMahon hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to tie the score, and Ben Rice added a two-run homer in the fifth to give the team a 5-3 lead. The bullpen allowed one run over the final three innings to secure the victory.

Boone was ejected after arguing with the home plate umpire following a diving catch in the outfield.

The win marked the team's 11th victory in its last 12 home games. The Yankees trail the division leader by 3.5 games entering Wednesday night's contest.
