The pitcher felt pain while playing catch Wednesday and underwent an MRI. He is scheduled to receive a platelet-rich plasma injection and will not throw for several days to a week. "It's kind of like off and on the last couple of weeks," the pitcher said.

He will not throw for about six weeks, likely delaying any major-league call-up until September. He threw live batting practice Tuesday and is set to do so again Sunday. The team will start a rookie right-hander on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins. The rookie made his major-league debut in May and posted a 3.07 ERA in 88 innings at Triple-A this season.
