Yordan Alvarez hits two home runs, including walk-off, in Astros win

Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez hit two home runs and drove in six runs, including a 424-foot walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning, to give the Astros a 10-8 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday night. Alvarez's second homer of the game broke an 8-8 tie. The Rays had entered the game with a nine-game winning streak, the longest in the American League this season.

Caminero hit a first-inning solo home run to give the Rays a 1-0 lead. Richie Palacios added a two-run homer in the second inning as the Rays built a 7-2 advantage. Yainer Diaz hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning for the Astros. Alvarez added an RBI single in the fifth before Jonny DeLuca hit a solo homer for the Rays in the seventh.

Houston scored three runs in the seventh to tie the game. Alvarez then delivered the decisive hit in the ninth after Jose Altuve drew a leadoff walk.

Astros starter Hunter Brown allowed seven runs in four innings. The Houston bullpen allowed one run over the final five innings, with Josh Hader recording the win. Alvarez was named to his fourth All-Star team before the game and leads the American League with 29 home runs. Caminero was named to his second All-Star team on Saturday and has hit 11 home runs in his past 11 games.
