The company reported 2.7 billion users and $60 billion in annual revenue. A January report from research firm Omdia estimated the total number of videos on the platform at 29 billion.

" The company stated it will use internal detection tools even when creators do not disclose AI use. Mohan said the technology represents a "profound paradigm shift" that will change content creation and consumption. He added that the platform aims to avoid feeds consisting only of AI-generated material.
YouTube terminated several channels after a November report from video editing company Kapwing estimated that more than 20 percent of Shorts shown to new users were AI-generated. A company spokesperson said the Kapwing study did not accurately represent platform content.
Last year YouTube added an Ask button that lets users query video content and a search tool that accepts natural-language prompts. The company also released an AI avatar feature similar to tools offered by other services.
