Zverev Beats De Jong to Reach French Open Quarter-Finals

Alexander Zverev defeated Jesper de Jong 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 6-1 in the fourth round of the French Open men's singles on Court Philippe-Chatrier. The second seed, 29, reached the quarter-finals for the sixth consecutive year. Zverev trailed early in the opening set after de Jong broke serve in the first game and led 3-0.

De Jong also led 3-0 in the tie-break before Zverev won seven straight points to close the set. In the second set Zverev converted one of two break-point chances in the tenth game. The German dominated the third set, winning it in 24 minutes and conceding just six points on serve across the final two sets.
