San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams signed a two-year, $50 million contract extension and said the deal is likely his last. Williams spoke to Bay Area media on Wednesday in Santa Clara, California, marking his first comments since agreeing to the extension. Williams entered the NFL in 2010.

He has a daughter who was born a few months before he was drafted. Williams said the extension gives him time to be accessible when his daughter starts college in a couple of years.

As a father, you feel like, 'Dang, I kind of missed her whole life until adulthood,'" Williams said. I want to be there and be accessible, and I don't want to be that father that shadows the kid.

Williams confirmed the two-year extension is the final contract he plans to sign. " Williams described weighing two options when he signed the deal. "I'm toying between the idea of going until I can't no more and just leaving while I've still got some good product left and not getting ran out the league," he said.

Williams left open the possibility of playing past 2027. "Obviously, I can't tell the future," he said. " ESPN reported the details of Williams' comments and contract on June 3, 2026.
