Adelaide Thunderbirds defeated Melbourne Vixens 61-40 in the Super Netball grand final at John Cain Arena, The Guardian reported. Attendance reached 10,040. The Thunderbirds secured their third premiership after one regular-season loss as minor premiers.
They outscored the Vixens 21-8 in the second quarter for the largest grand final margin in league history, surpassing the prior 17-goal record set in 2017 and 2019. Captain Shamera Sterling-Humphrey and Jamaican international Latanya Wilson limited the Vixens attack. South African shooter Elmere van der Berg converted 51 of 52 attempts.
Coach Tania Obst directed the side to its first title since consecutive wins in 2023 and 2024. The Vixens missed a chance at consecutive titles and have now lost two of their past three grand final appearances.
