American League Shuts Out National League 4-0 in All-Star Game
The American League defeated the National League 4-0 on Tuesday in Philadelphia for its first All-Star shutout since 2013. Pitchers limited the NL to three singles and struck out 27 batters while Cody Bellinger earned MVP honors.

The American League defeated the National League 4-0 on Tuesday night in Philadelphia, recording the first All-Star shutout since 2013. Pitchers combined for a three-hitter and 27 strikeouts as the AL extended its recent dominance in the exhibition. Dylan Cease struck out the side in the first inning.

Ben Rice followed with an RBI single, and Cody Bellinger delivered a two-run single later in the frame. Ten relievers joined Cease to keep the National League scoreless. Miguel Vargas added a solo home run in the eighth.
The National League managed only three singles and never advanced a runner past first base. Fifteen of the 27 strikeouts came from American League pitchers. Only six pitches reached 100 mph, the fewest in an All-Star Game since 2021.
Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero exited after being struck on the hand by a 97.6 mph sinker in the third inning; X-rays were negative. Mike Trout went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his first All-Star appearance since 2019. The American League has now won 18 of its last 23 All-Star contests and leads the all-time series 49-45-2.
