Thousands attended the day-of-action event organized in response to recent Supreme Court rulings and Republican redistricting plans. Civil rights advocates have argued those plans weaken Black voting power.

Conservative podcaster Todd Spears posted a TikTok video that received more than one million views. "Roll up and do what exactly? Because you're standing behind, like, pope glass in your own hometown," Spears said. TikTok creator Kei Bennett posted a separate video that drew more than 800,000 views.

She said the court under Chief Justice John Roberts is "part of that long history of regression and repression in America." She further stated that Republicans "think they can draw us out of power" and warned they "do not know the sleeping giant that they just awakened." Ocasio-Cortez's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
