Aoun Meets Trump at White House as Attacks Continue Across Region

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on July 21, 2026. Aoun said the two sides had signed a framework agreement whose ultimate objective was ending the state of hostility between Lebanon and Israel forever.

Trump told reporters that Iran desperately wants to meet and that the United States will hit the rumored location of Iran’s nuclear centrifuges heavily and pretty soon. @AJEnglish reported that the Israeli military opened fire near Lebanese troops deploying in the town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya in Nabatieh.

The Lebanese army said the shooting occurred in close proximity to its soldiers, exposed them to danger, and hindered their mission.

It called on Israeli forces to address issues through the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon and approved coordination channels rather than carrying out attacks.
