Aston Villa and SC Freiburg agree €60 million transfer for Johan Manzambi after rival English club had already reached terms

Aston Villa reached a verbal agreement with SC Freiburg for the transfer of Johan Manzambi. The fee is slightly in excess of €60 million, and Freiburg accepted the proposal. Verbal agreement was also reached with Manzambi and his agency over personal terms.

A long-term deal is in place. Aston Villa entered the race to sign the player from SC Freiburg ahead of another English club that had agreed terms with SC Freiburg. The English club had not yet reached an agreement with Manzambi himself before Aston Villa sought a green light from the player.
