Berks County Man Receives Seven-and-a-Half-Year Sentence for Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Trafficking

A Berks County resident was sentenced to seven and a half years in federal prison on May 12 2026 for fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania imposed the 90-month term on the defendant who pleaded guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. The case forms part of broader federal efforts to disrupt regional opioid and stimulant supply chains.

The defendant must also serve three years of supervised release following imprisonment and forfeit proceeds and property linked to the trafficking operation.

The sentence directly affects distribution networks that supplied both Berks County communities and adjacent areas in Pennsylvania. Federal prosecutors presented evidence that the defendant moved kilogram quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine the precise volumes cited in the plea agreement.

Under prior federal sentencing guidelines the base offense level for these quantities combined with the defendant's criminal history produced a range that the court accepted in full.

The operational change locks in a fixed term of incarceration that begins immediately and ends in late 2031 barring good-time credits. Upon release the three-year supervised release period activates with conditions that include drug testing reporting requirements and restrictions on travel and associations.

Forfeiture of assets removes financial resources previously used to sustain the trafficking operation.

Downstream the sentence requires the Bureau of Prisons to designate a facility within the next several weeks and obliges the U.S. Probation Office to prepare for post-release monitoring starting in 2031.
