Aerial footage from local television stations showed at least one home on fire. Fire officials did not provide an exact count of damaged structures.
Multiple helicopters performed water drops over the fire while gray smoke covered nearby neighborhoods. Crews worked to prevent flames from moving down slopes into suburban areas of Thousand Oaks. m. Ventura County Fire’s Andy Van Sciver said crews were still anticipating a change in the weather to their advantage.
