A new CBS News poll released Sunday shows Americans have grown more pessimistic about the economy since the start of the conflict with Iran. U.S. economy.

President Trump's handling of inflation received 27 percent approval in the survey. The poll found 77 percent of respondents said their pay was not keeping up with expenses, with nearly three in five citing gas prices as a hardship. Ratings of the economy have slid to levels not seen since 2023.
