A left-handed closer was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday after missing the entire season with left biceps tendinitis. The pitcher completed nine minor league rehabilitation appearances before the roster move. Last season he posted a 2.05 ERA and recorded 28 saves in 48 appearances while earning his sixth All-Star selection.

Additional roster changes An outfielder was recalled from Triple-A on the same day. An infielder was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right adductor strain retroactive to Sunday. A second infielder, who underwent left ankle surgery, was transferred to the 60-day injured list for the remainder of the season.
