Conor McGregor Plans Return at UFC 329 After Five-Year Layoff

Conor McGregor said he is returning to MMA competition after a five-year absence from the octagon. The former two-division champion is expected to face Max Holloway at UFC 329. McGregor stated on The Ariel Helwani Show that his decision stems from a desire to test his endurance rather than monetary incentives.

“For the fun of it, for the joy, for the thrill, I yearn for this,” he said. ” McGregor described MMA as a test of who can endure physical and mental strain the longest. He said he now works backward from adverse scenarios after suffering a leg break during his July 2021 fight against Dustin Poirier.

“I’ve had a limb break inside the octagon. So now I must have an answer to that. I had the perfect scenario, but then I have the worst-case scenario. I have a whole selection of responses to the worst-case scenarios,” McGregor said.

He added that his increased experience has led him to prepare comprehensive responses to unexpected setbacks. McGregor holds a multi-fight contract with the UFC. com reported that his return is set for UFC 329.
