Detroit Lions Release Cornerback After Judge Sets $1 Million Bond

The Detroit Lions released cornerback Terrion Arnold on Monday after a judge set his bond at $1 million in a Florida case involving kidnapping and armed robbery charges. Arnold, the team's 2024 first-round draft pick, was arrested last week on eight felony counts. The court denied prosecutors' request to hold him without bond and declined to require an ankle monitor.

The charges stem from an alleged kidnapping and armed robbery that occurred February 4 in Florida. Arnold faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted. A pre-trial motion filed by Largo police seeks to keep Arnold in custody until trial. Prosecutors had asked the court to impose GPS monitoring, but defense attorneys argued the restriction would prevent him from playing in the NFL.

The judge ordered Arnold to surrender his passport within 48 hours and to remain at his residence in Tallahassee except for NFL business, legal matters, or court appearances. He is also barred from contacting witnesses or the six co-defendants.

The Lions announced the release the same day the bond was set.
