Duke of Kent Opens Royal Attendance at Wimbledon 2026

The Duke of Kent took his seat in the Royal Box on the first day of Wimbledon 2026. He wore a green and purple striped tie matching the tournament colors. Prince Edward, 90, is the former patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. He has reduced his public engagements in recent years but attended Trooping the Colour and Garter Day earlier this month.

Lady Susan Hussey, 87, accompanied the duke. She served as lady-in-waiting to the late Queen Elizabeth and remains part of the Royal Household.

Beckham returned to the Royal Box with his mother.

The 51-year-old former footballer had flown from New Jersey after watching England's World Cup match on Saturday. Television baker Mary Berry and former tennis player Debbie Jevans sat with Beckham. Actor Mark Rylance, Alexandra Armstrong, and opera singer Katherine Jenkins were seated in the row behind.
