The program will begin testing on June 1 at a site in Framingham, Massachusetts, about 25 miles from Logan Airport. Initially, the service will be available only to Delta and JetBlue passengers departing between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
How the Program Works Passengers check in and clear security at the off-site facility. A $9 shuttle then transports them and their checked bags directly to the terminal, bypassing security lines inside the airport. , with travel time listed as 45 minutes or longer during rush hour.
Parking at the off-site location costs $7 per day. The facility is located less than a mile from three Dunkin' locations.
Officials noted that the initiative could expand to the other seven approved airports if the Boston test succeeds. David Sunde, the CEO of Landline, the company operating the shuttles, stated that off-site screening is becoming more necessary as airports run out of space to expand.
