A Finnish member of the European Parliament stated that British officials revoked his Electronic Travel Authorisation two hours before his scheduled flight. The politician said he had been invited to address the inaugural Conservative Political Action Conference Great Britain.

In a video posted on social media, the MEP said advertisements had been placed and flights and hotel reservations had been made. He added that the revocation notice stated his presence would not be conducive to the public good. The politician said his political work has focused on issues related to mass migration and that some officials view such statements as hate speech.
He urged British residents to change their leadership if they want different outcomes.
Background on the politician The MEP belongs to Finland's Finns Party, which holds seven ministerial posts in the current coalition government. He is also a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group in the European Parliament. The same notice language has been used in other recent cases involving elected officials and commentators invited to events in Britain.
In May, a Polish member of the European Parliament said he would sue the British prime minister personally after his own travel permission was cancelled ahead of a separate rally.
