Yousuf Imran left his role as a Google account executive in April 2026 to found Mangosteen Studio, an AI product lab focused on go-to-market tooling for account executives, Insider reported. Imran, 41, earned a base salary of roughly $170,000 at Google last year, with commissions bringing his W-2 income to about $986,000, according to the report.
He joined the company in 2020 after roughly 15 years in sales roles and grew up in Queens, New York, following his family's move from Bangladesh when he was five.
Imran said "AI FOMO" and equity upside at firms such as OpenAI and Anthropic factored into his decision. He set aside $200,000 to fund the business for two years and another $150,000 to cover mortgage and personal expenses, the report stated. The company operates with a small team of engineers, marketers, and contractors.
Imran, who has spent about 20 years in quota-carrying sales, said he is building tools based on problems he encountered during that time.
