A German shipping company heiress and her 40-year-old mentor were found dead from gunshot wounds roughly 20 hours apart at the Leeuwfontein Estate in Limpopo province, South Africa. The 26-year-old heiress died on June 1, 2026, inside her room with a .375 caliber rifle beside her. Her mentor was found the previous day with a 9mm handgun located about 16 feet from his body.
Family lawyers told German newspaper Bild that both individuals took their own lives. They stated there is no suspicion of foul play and that the family is cooperating with South African police. Police have ruled out manslaughter in both cases while awaiting autopsy results to confirm official causes of death.
