Hornets trade Miles Bridges, 2029 pick to Suns for Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale, 2033 pick
The Charlotte Hornets agreed to send forward Miles Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns. In return, Charlotte receives guard Grayson Allen, forward Royce O'Neale and a 2033 first-round pick. The deal follows an earlier trade involving guard LaMelo Ball.

The Charlotte Hornets agreed Sunday to trade forward Miles Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns for guard Grayson Allen, forward Royce O'Neale and a 2033 first-round pick. The 2029 first-round pick sent to Phoenix is the least favorable among those originally held by Utah, Cleveland and Minnesota and is protected from picks 6 through 30.
Charlotte retains control of its remaining future first-round selections.
Draft assets and roster outlook After the LaMelo Ball trade, the Hornets now hold three first-round selections in the 2033 NBA Draft, including the newly acquired Phoenix pick. The team also holds a $40.7 million trade exception from the Ball deal. Forward Kon Knueppel appeared in 81 games last season, averaging 18.5 points while shooting 42.5 percent from three-point range.
Guard Brandon Miller averaged 20.2 points and shot a career-high 38.3 percent from beyond the arc in 2025-26.
Coaching and shooting emphasis Charlotte averaged 43.3 three-point attempts per game last season, second-most in the league. Allen and O'Neale combined for 371 made three-pointers on 38 percent shooting in the prior season. The Hornets finished 44-38 last season.
The front office now has additional flexibility to pursue other players, including reported interest in Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown.
