Knott asked Descano whether he believed he prosecuted cases in a manner that defended the people of Fairfax County.
Baquedano-Rodriguez was caught and released by an immigration judge in Eloy, Arizona, during the Biden administration. He was later accused in Fairfax County in a case involving a 4-year-old girl in Annandale.
Police obtained a warrant based on evidence of attempted murder, rape, robbery or arson, which carried a maximum penalty of 20 years, while intent to defile a youth carried a maximum of life in prison. Once the case reached Descano’s office, the burglary offense was reduced to a misdemeanor, capping the sentence at 12 months.
The abduction charge was reduced to a lower degree offense with a 10-year cap.
A judge later rejected Descano’s plea deal. The suspect was ultimately arrested by ICE after the case dismissal. "He yanked a four-year-old girl out of her bed with the intent to harm her. " Knott said.
Knott called him a "coward" and told him to stop talking.
