James Dolan gives day-to-day control of New York Rangers to son Quentin
James Dolan transferred day-to-day operations of the NHL team to his 32-year-old son. Quentin Dolan will oversee the Rangers and their AHL affiliate while Chris Drury continues in hockey operations.

James Dolan has transferred day-to-day operations of the New York Rangers to his son Quentin Dolan, the team announced Friday. Quentin Dolan, 32, becomes president, chief operating officer and alternate governor. He will run the NHL club and its AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Chris Drury will continue leading hockey operations and report directly to Quentin Dolan, who in turn reports to his father. James Dolan, 71 and executive chairman of MSG Sports, is stepping back from daily responsibilities. Quentin Dolan joined MSG Sports in 2022 and previously served as senior vice president of player performance and science leader for both the Rangers and the New York Knicks.
He holds a bachelor's degree in sports and event management from New York University. "I've always had a tremendous respect and admiration for the New York Rangers organization, it's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember," Quentin Dolan said. " Drury said the move would strengthen the organization.
"Quentin and I have worked together for several years, and I believe him taking on this role will only make the Rangers organization stronger," he said. The Rangers missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons after reaching the conference finals in 2024. Quentin Dolan told the New York Post this week that his goal is to win a championship and continue the family legacy.
