Judge Sets $1 Million Bond for Lions Player Charged With Armed Robbery and Kidnapping

A Hillsborough County judge found probable cause Monday for Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold to face charges of armed robbery and kidnapping but denied prosecutors' request to hold him without bond. The judge set bond at $1 million and imposed several conditions on the 23-year-old player. Arnold may not contact the six co-defendants or any witnesses in the case.

He must surrender his passport within 48 hours and remain at his residence except when traveling to practice or play for the Lions, attend court appearances, or meet with attorneys. Prosecutors had asked the judge to require a GPS tracking device, but Arnold's attorneys said the device would prevent him from playing football.

Arnold has been in custody since turning himself in last Wednesday night.

Authorities said he led a plot to detain and pistol-whip three people he believed had stolen from him. Investigators determined the three victims had no connection to the theft. Police said three men in their late teens were held at gunpoint, battered, pistol-whipped and robbed inside a Tampa apartment on Feb.

4. Three days earlier, personal property valued at more than $250,000 was reported stolen from Arnold and others at an Airbnb rental in Largo, about 20 miles west of Tampa. Authorities described Arnold as the primary conspirator in the February incident.

Arnold has denied involvement, according to Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, the agency that represents him.
