KBO Names 26 All-Star Reserves With 20 First-Time Selections

The Korea Baseball Organization announced 26 reserves on June 29 for the 2026 All-Star Game scheduled for July 11 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul. Yonhap reported that the selections include 20 first-time All-Stars. Team Dream manager Lee Sung-yong chose 13 reserves from the Doosan Bears, Samsung Lions, Lotte Giants, KT Wiz and SSG Landers.

Team Nanum manager Youm Kyoung-youb selected 13 reserves from the LG Twins, Kia Tigers, Hanwha Eagles, Kiwoom Heroes and NC Dinos. Each side already has 12 starters chosen by fan and peer votes. The Kiwoom Heroes and Lotte Giants, which had no players among the 12 starters, each placed four reserves on the rosters.

All seven pitchers chosen by Lee for Team Dream are first-time All-Stars. Lotte Giants rookie Park Jeong-min and Samsung Lions rookie Jang Chan-hee were selected as first-time reserves for Team Dream. Yonhap reported that Jang pitched for the Lions against the KT Wiz on June 26 at Daegu Samsung Lions Park.

Ryu Hyun-jin was chosen as a reserve for Team Nanum, marking his ninth KBO All-Star appearance and first as a reserve since 2009. Kiwoom Heroes closer Yuto Kanakubo was named the only Asian quota player for the game. Kiwoom Heroes rookie Park Jun-hyun was selected as the only rookie reserve for Team Nanum.

His father, Park Sok-min, previously appeared in multiple All-Star Games for the Samsung Lions and NC Dinos. Of the 50 total All-Star players, 27 are first-time selections.
