Mitchell Robinson played 13 minutes for the Knicks in their 105-95 Game 1 win. He finished with two points and six rebounds. The center's two points came on an alley-oop. He had undergone surgery for a fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his right hand between the conference finals and the Finals.

Injury details remain unclear Robinson was listed as questionable before the game. " Coach Mike Brown said he did not think Robinson was limited. Brown added that Robinson remained a vertical threat on offense and contributed defensively on the glass.

Robinson said he never doubted he would play. He noted he has been with the team for eight years. The team has not disclosed how the injury occurred. Officials have stated only that it did not happen during a game or practice. A fan briefly ran onto the court during the game before security removed the individual.
