Kostyuk, Noskova reach first Wimbledon semifinals

Marta Kostyuk defeated Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2 on Centre Court to reach her first Wimbledon semifinal on Wednesday. The 24-year-old Ukrainian reached the last four at the French Open earlier this year. Kostyuk raised her hands and dropped to her knees after Paolini missed a shot on match point.

Kostyuk's path Kostyuk had visited Centre Court the day before the match.

She said the venue left her "flabbergasted" and that she needed time to recover from seeing it. Kostyuk has won 21 of her past 22 matches. Paolini made 26 unforced errors and hit eight winners.

Noskova advances Linda Noskova defeated Elise Mertens 6-3, 7-5 to reach her first Grand Slam semifinal. The 21-year-old Czech player won all 11 of her service games. Noskova leads the women's tour with 18 grass-court match wins over the past two seasons.

She improved to 10-1 on grass this year. The other semifinal will feature Coco Gauff against Karolina Muchova on Thursday. Three of the four semifinalists are under age 25.
