LeBron James Agent Lists 10 Teams as Possible Destinations

Rich Paul, agent for LeBron James, listed ten NBA teams as possible destinations for his client during a July 3 podcast. The teams shown on the whiteboard were the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs.

Paul told ESPN that he has now spoken with 27 teams about James. He said the list of teams and the factors James must consider remain fluid, citing the 76ers' recent trade for Jaylen Brown as an example of how circumstances can change.

During the episode of his "Game Over" podcast, Paul used a whiteboard and pointer to discuss each team. He said the exercise was meant to help fans understand James' decision-making process and the layers involved with every interested team. Paul noted that James is making this decision without external pressure.

"This is the first time that LeBron James is making a decision pressure-free," Paul told ESPN.

He highlighted players Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Brown and Joel Embiid as reasons the team could appeal to James. Paul also cited the 76ers' front office, naming executive vice president of basketball operations Jameer Nelson and president of basketball operations Mike Gansey as familiar figures.

He added that he and James "love" the team's leadership, including managing partner Josh Harris and former Warriors general manager Bob Myers. Paul said the Knicks are unlikely to be a destination. "It's difficult, because the last thing you want to do is mess up something like that," he said.
