Amble introduced the Amble One, a compact electric vehicle with a 62-mile range and 40 mph top speed. The company targets hotels and resorts with deliveries planned for 2028.
yankodesign.comAmble, an electric vehicle startup based in Lisbon, Portugal, launched the Amble One, an open-air electric buggy designed for hotels and resorts. The vehicle features a 15 kW motor, an 11 kWh battery, a top speed of 40 mph, and a range of up to 62 miles on a single charge that takes five hours from a standard wall outlet.
It has a curb weight under 450 kg and is being homologated under Europe’s L7e quadricycle regulations.
The company targets a starting price of $25,000. Customers can reserve a vehicle with a $100 deposit, and deliveries are scheduled for 2028. Amble has received more than 1,000 reservations so far. Amble will not manufacture the vehicles itself.
It has partnered with an unnamed contract manufacturer that employs roughly 1,100 people. Motors come from Germany, reducers from Italy, and batteries are currently sourced from China. The company plans to export initial vehicles to the United States from Europe before establishing American manufacturing.
CEO Adrien Roose said the Amble One is intended as a household’s second vehicle for short trips such as school runs and neighborhood errands. The design draws from the Lunar Rover and older 4x4 vehicles like the G-Wagen, with a neo-retro aesthetic that includes folding front seats, a front cargo rack, and mounts for accessories.
The leadership team includes alumni from Apple, Audi, and the e-bike company Cowboy.
Roose noted that strong early interest has prompted the company to accelerate plans for a street-legal version in the US.
