Min Woo Lee Misses Cut at 2026 Masters, Has Yet to Match 2022 Top-20 Finish
The 27-year-old Australian finished 11 over par after two rounds and missed the cut for the second time. He later discussed course lessons learned during an appearance on Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel.
yardbarker.comMin Woo Lee missed the cut at the 2026 Masters after posting an 11-over-par score through the first two rounds. The result marked the Australian’s second missed cut at the event and left him without another top-20 finish since tying for 14th in his 2022 debut. Lee, 27, played the Masters for the fifth time this year.
He has not improved on his initial result at Augusta National in subsequent appearances. Speaking on Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel after the tournament, Lee described a realization about the course’s terrain. “I believe in what I do, so if I want to hit a draw, I hit a draw.
I’d hit a draw and it would be a hook. So if I hit a fade, it would be a draw still. At Augusta, there’s actually a lot of right to left slopes. I don’t think I realised that until after the tournament,” he said.
Lee added that the experience prompted broader adjustments to his approach. “I don’t know why, this year it felt like I learnt a lot. You’ve got to hit a lot of hold ups. That’s why I think a lot of the faders actually do pretty well at Augusta, because they can just hold it off that right to left hill,” he said.
He pointed to players who favor a fade as examples of effective course management. “DJ, Scottie, everyone who fades it. Off the tee, it’s a draw, but I think people can manage that. You don’t need to draw it that much.
DJ fades everything and he still won. You need both, but not drastically,” Lee said. The Masters returns to the same course each year, a distinction among the four major championships.
Lee has been viewed as one of the PGA Tour’s most exciting talents, known for long driving distance and strong short-game touch.
