Mookie Betts will voice the character Dizzy Doubleday in the episode "Swarm's Baseball Swing and a Mess" of the Disney Jr. series "Marvel's Iron Man and his Awesome Friends," which premieres Friday on Disney+. ESPN reported that Betts, the Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop, appears in the episode as a ballplayer who loves to help young kids learn the game.
Former softball Olympian and current ESPN analyst Jessica Mendoza voices Dottie Doubleday, Dizzy's sister and owner of the local batting cage, in the same episode. Betts is an eight-time All-Star, six-time Gold Glove winner and four-time World Series champion. 190 this season but recorded two hits against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.
Betts previously featured in and served as executive producer of a film on Jackie Robinson's legacy. " The series follows the adventures of a young Iron Man, Ironheart and Iron Hulk.
