Alex Pereira hosted an MMA seminar in Keighley, England, on June 27 that prompted complaints from attendees over unpaid meet-and-greet and photo sessions. ” Joyagear, the company that organized the seminar, stated that Pereira completed the one-hour session exactly as instructed and was not at fault.
The company said it bore responsibility for a failure of communication regarding deliverables such as photo opportunities.
Pereira had been knocked out by Ciryl Gane in the co-main event of UFC Freedom 250 roughly two weeks earlier. The Brazilian, a former UFC light heavyweight and middleweight champion who joined the promotion in 2021, has conducted seminars in several countries since rising to prominence. Charles Oliveira, Tom Aspinall and Demetrious Johnson have previously held seminars with MMA Seminars UK.
The company is advertising a November 2026 seminar in England featuring Georges St-Pierre.
