Predators Acquire Jack Drury from Avalanche, Sign Him to Five-Year Contract
The Nashville Predators signed forward Jack Drury to a five-year, $22.5 million deal Sunday night. Drury arrived from the Colorado Avalanche in a trade completed four days earlier.

ESPN reported that the Nashville Predators signed forward Jack Drury to a five-year, $22.5 million contract on Sunday night. The 26-year-old center had been acquired from the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday. The Predators received Drury, forward Chase Bradley and a third-round pick in the 2029 NHL draft in exchange for forwards Zachary L'Heureux and Fedor Svechkov.
Drury posted career highs of 10 goals and 27 points while playing all 82 regular-season games for the Avalanche last season. He won 58.1 percent of his faceoffs, fifth-highest among players with at least 900 draws. Drury added three goals and two assists in 13 playoff games as the Avalanche advanced to the Western Conference finals.
Predators general manager Chris MacFarland said after the trade that Drury is a hard-working, reliable center who handles tough assignments and excels in the faceoff circle. MacFarland noted that Drury's addition strengthens the team's depth at center. Drury is the son of former NHL center Ted Drury and the nephew of former NHL center and current New York Rangers general manager Chris Drury.
He was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round of the 2018 draft.1 percent faceoff rate.
