Prime Video’s Kevin Animated Series Premieres April 20, Cast Discusses Show on The View
Aubrey Plaza, John Waters, and Amy Sedaris appeared on The View on April 16 to promote the upcoming Prime Video adult animated comedy Kevin, which premieres April 20. The show, co-created by Plaza and Joe Wengert, is inspired by their real-life cat and set in Queens.
azernews.azPrime Video’s new adult animated comedy series Kevin is set to premiere on Monday, April 20, the show’s creators and cast announced on Thursday during an appearance on ABC’s The View. m. m. Central, to discuss the series.
The cat character central to the show also made an appearance on the program. Kevin was co-created by Aubrey Plaza, Joe Wengert, and Dan Murphy. Plaza stated that the series is inspired by a cat she shared with Wengert, with whom she used to date.
The two lived in Queens a long time ago, and the show is set in that borough. Plaza explained that the cat at the center of the series is based on what their real cat Kevin looked like. She and Wengert had two cats named Kevin and Howard, both adopted from a mob family.
Plaza also clarified that although they pitched the show in front of Amazon, Netflix, and other streaming platforms, she and Wengert are no longer a couple. Jason Schwartzman provides the voice for the cat character Kevin in the series.
